RHHA Meeting Minutes 1/14/14

In attendance:

Don & Rita

Greg Whitesell

Joe Fyannes

Joe and Carrie Z.

Don: I called Bev Gross today. He’s got a marina that he has to have done by April, which is why he said he couldn’t get to us until then.

Okay, we can get started.

Everyone seen the minutes?
They look pretty good. Motion to accept?

Joe and Joe: Second. All in favor.

Minutes passed.

1,046.34 in regular savings

50.00 expenses for deposit box

7,341.80 pier fund

collected $700 dues, (400 were back dues), plus $500 for special assessment. total of $1200 collected. All included. in the two totals. for current balances.

I think the biggest issues for tonight is the pier.

Two things I think we already settled..

1, the monetary issue. The 2,000 license fee plus the $300 a year for slip per year.

The second thing is the availability of the slips….which we’ll go with seniority and then we’ll run a waiting list. we should have 4 slips after it’s all said and done.

Carrie: All this should go in with the bylaws.

Joe: It should be the “pier contract”.

Carrie: We should have general rules in the by-laws. And then slip holders should have to sign…..must have insurance, must not have hazardous materials…etc.

Rita: I didn’t think that we wanted to get into all that right now.

Carrie: Also there should not be firearms….

don: Fireworks

Carrie: Children under certain age without parental supervision.

Joe Fyannes: At least this protects the HOA.

We should go on a marina website and copy all the rules and take what we want from it. They already paid all the lawyers to come up with it.

Carrie: I think that Ponder Cove’s stuff is all online.

Don: Joe, Are you going to work on these?

Joe: Yes. Will be “pier rules” and “slip agreement”

JOE F: Maybe we should include at least your own risk, ICE, no cones…everything is at your own risk.

This pier is unmonitored, all activities are at your own risk (for example…swimming, boating, fishing, crabbing, walking on the ice, etc)

Carrie: We need to define “temporary usage” that says what it would be and when a charge would be applied.

“No more than 4 consecutive days, and no more than 7 days in a 30-day period.”

Clean up, …trash, fish waste, derelict boats, etc.”

Don: You must be a RHHA member in “good standing” to use the pier and/or the rec area.

Don: no excessive drinking, drugs, dangerous, disorderly behavior. No ILLEGAL ACTIVITIES.

Don: For now I would say that slip fees would cover electricity, but for certain issues like AC, Heat or bubbler or something, then maybe we would have to wage an additional charge. We will have to address the electricity at some point. Right now it is under Greg and has been for the last 12 years.

We will need to upgrade the electricity at the pier as soon as the construction is done. We will need to pull a permit to avoid the $3500 fine from the county and get is under the building contract before it is closed out

We will come up with the documents and then vote on them as a community.

RHHA MEETING , TUESDAY FEB 11, 7pm at DON & Rita’s, again.
