Don:
Minutes: Additions or corrections to last month’s meeting….(Attendance should include Don and Greg….Motion to approve minutes…Second. Minutes Approved and entered into record.
Carrie Treasurer’s Report:
Provided copies of the most recent bank statements
Checking Account: $1,163.90
Savings Account $4,576.93
Exp: $15 monthly service charge….I provided info for moving account..My suggestion is to move to Severn Savings bank and we will get free checks.
No min, no fee, up to 200 items per month, plus first order of checks free.
I pulled official documents for the homeowner’s bank. (Articles of Inc. and Tax Id number)
We did get another $200 income for 2014 and 2015 dues. That is not included in the checking balance. That was from the settlement company for the old Pearl /Teitt house for this year and the upcoming year.
I did pull out the information on the Carr’s Wharf community association and it was a $20 fee to join, so we can go ahead and join that.
Don: If we need help with something, it makes it easier for us to go to them if we need something.
Carrie: I did call the insurance company and told him that we got the pier repaired….We are currently insured for $10K, but he said that we may want to increase that. We are covered for fire and collision, but not flood, hurricane, or ice damage… and he said that no insurance company would offer that. We also have $1M for liability and for the officers to protect them if they were to be sued. That’s about it. We are paid $425 last year…We have a $1000 deductible. We could increase it if we want.
Don: I’m almost of the mind that that is enough insurance. But, I think for now, I think $10,000 would probably cover whatever might happen as far as structural damage.
Rita: Speaking about ice damage, did we talk about putting a bubbler in?
Don: The big expense is running it.
Discussion about how bubblers work with timers or thermostats etc. We are talking about a bubbler to protect the pilings from ice.
DON: Do we want to discuss the bank change anymore?
(No opposed going to Severn Savings Bank)
Carrie: I can look at insurance and see if it would be cheaper going anywhere else.
Don: Pier – Do we have a ladder or anything down there yet?
Joe Z: I got a ladder but it is not attached. They have different sized life rings with different buoyancy. They are all coast guard approved, 20 inch and 24in and 30 inch in size.
Don: I would get a 24 incher.
Joe : It has 35 pounds of buoyancy and costs $82.99
Jo F – I can get 15% off anything over $70
Joe Z – 54.99 for the life ring mount. We’ll see what kind of a price that Joe herring can get from West Marine.
Don: I know someone who gets a discount too, I’ll ask him
Kevin: You should check on Amazon too, they sell everything.
Don: It seems like we should be able to do it for about $115. Do we want to go ahead and order that? (ALL said yes)
Don: Go ahead and do it then.
Don: Are there any stickers on the permit or anything? (Inspections, none yet)
Carrie: Present RHHA Pier Lease Agreement document. We did go through it line by line.
Joe: Motion to approve the RHHA Lease Agreement.
Seconded by Rita:
Vote: Approved via voice vote. The lease agreement is now official.
Don: Any more old business?
Joe: Marine ladders are $219.00 for a four step ladder. We need on one the pier.
Don: To be honest with you, I think that is the way we ought to go. ( A nice metal one that goes up and down.)
Rita: How about maintenance.
Don: Has there been anymore though on re-decking.
Greg: I thought we really couldn’t do anything until the inspections are all done.
Joe: I would consider adding 2 more stringers. So that we would have 5 stingers instead of 3.
Don: We’ll need 18 boards, 2×8, 100 feet of boards. We might as well do it right if we are going to do this at all. When we re-deck, we’ll add those stringers.
Don: We are going to call for a final but we need the ladder and the life ring first.
Don: Anything else anyone wants to discuss? The sign looks good.
ELECTIONS:
Don: Nominating committee. Do you have anything to report:

Joann: I’m willing to be either VP or President
Greg: Jo, would you be willing to be president?
Jo: Yes, I am willing, with support from Don. Don could be VP.
Don: Is there another alternative?
Greg: I nominate Anita Herring to VP.
Rita: I’ll call her to make sure that she is okay with that. …..okay, she’ll by VP.

…
Jo: We need to set the date for the next meeting. When is the crab feast? September is a good month for crabs.
Don: We could put the meeting off until August. I think we need one meeting for the pier issues.
Jo: let’s get going in august. So we should have a meeting on August 12 at Jo and Jan’s house at 7pm.
Motion to close meeting.
