Meeting Minutes for General Meeting 6/8/2021

Finances

  • Balances
    • Savings – $3657
    • Checking – $10099
  • Expenses
    • $69.94 – New life ring
    • $2000 – Slip reserve fee refund

Elections

  • No new nominations have been received by any officers present
  • As of a week ago, Tom (unable to join) had not either
  • Secretary casts a vote to accept uncontested positions
  • New officers:
    • Greg Whitesell – President
    • Joann Fyanes- Vice President
    • Carrie Zambrana – Treasurer
    • Jason McKenry – Secretary

Shared Property

  • Dock area
    • Joe Z has pulled a number of dead trees out from the dock area
    • Bob talked to someone at the county about the driveway.  Has not heard back yet, although they did come take pictures.
    • Lots of poison ivy growing down there (corner of the gazebo)
      • Few bags of mulch may help
      • Group effort would work to get it cleared up
        • Greg suggests around two weeks from now
      • Jason will provide some poison ivy killer
        • It’s been tested and doesn’t bother the trees
    • Goose poop on the pier is getting annoying, looking for easy ideas to keep them away
    • If we get together in a few weeks, it’s a good opportunity to add some piling caps
      • Carrie and Joe have some sheet metal to get that started.  Should be enough to do most of the pilings
      • Joe will teach us the art of the piling cap so we can knock it out as a group
    • Greg will organize a work date over email
  • Sign area
    • Joe has pulled some rotted wood off the sign
    • Sign needs some weeding
    • Reflectors are doing a good job keeping the corner from being worn off, but a few need to be replaced
      • Approved to replace

Events

  • Saturday June 12th
    • Service for Joe
    • Will be a lot of people coming to Joann’s
    • Parking at Kiwanis, Mongold’s and on Rhode Harbor
    • Setup starting around 10, event starting at 12

Officers meeting

  • Greg suggests a meeting in July for the officers
  • Tuesday, July 13 at 7:00

Social event

  • It would be nice to have a get together sometime in the next few months
    • Burgers and dogs down by the pier would be easy
    • Early September would be good – cooler, after summer vacations
