We will shop around for new bank. (Capital One)

-Taxes have been filed for 2013.

-Notices will go out to remind that annual dues are due in June for 2014….they have been moved up as per last year’s vote.

GENERAL DISCUSSION:

-RHHA Pier Slip Lease Agreement – proposed guidelines for running the community pier and slips. Review of document drafted and presented by Joe Zambrana, pier committee chair. (NOTE: Get a DRAFT – copy of the document and post it in the minutes. This document needs to be posted and open to comments, approval by majority of quorum)

Discussion Points:

-Slip fee would make it so that you cannot rent for 6 months and then store for 6 month and not pay. You must pay yearly fee… if partial year, would be pro-rated, but not refunded for early termination.

-The $2000 bond will go into non-interest bearing account. No interest will be paid.

-Vessels shall be owners’ liability and responsibility. No subletting allowed. No open fires. Pets permitted. No dock boxes (Some objection and discussed, as follows).

Don – Wait! Do dock boxes? (Discussion decided that people will want dock boxes… and discussed to allow them, but perhaps size limits.) Other safety/environmental safety were mentioned. Working on boat, so as to affect others, will need prior approval.

GENERAL REPORTS/COMMENTS:

Don – Pier – The lumber was ordered last week. He’s going to start soon. (This lumber does not include the decking…but we should get him to give us an estimate because he may be able to get us a good price on it.)

Carrie – Is he going to make sure that all the pilings are driven into the riverbed and even? Don, we can talk to him, but it was not mentioned in the original agreement.

Don – We don’t have a slid start date yet. He has been down working at Herrington Harbor, but he just brought the barge back to the area.

DON – We will have to post the permit before the work is done. Also we need to call the STATE, the Department of the Environment to let them come down and approve it.

Kevin M – Do they have to inspect that again after all the work it done?

Don – Yes. And I’ll ask Bev Gross how that process transpires. I think you have a year to complete the work…but I think you can get an extension.

We are going to get started…and it’s going to be finished pretty quickly.

Anita – It’s been 5 years, so I think we need to raise our glasses. (All cheers!)

NEXT TOPICS:

Don: ELECTIONS are in June and one change is certain…. I’m not running for President. We need a nominating committee.

(Carrie Zambrana will be on nominating. Kevin Muskgrove and Greg Whitesell will also be on nominating committee.)

Joe Z: I have a question…if no one wants a position, can we change the rule that “no two officers can be from one household”?)

Carrie – (for clarification) If we have multiple people from one household and there are multiple positions that need to be filled, would two people from one house be able to take on the offices?

Greg – I think that is something that we would have to vote on as a community.

Carrie – Yes, that would have to be voted on.

Poll of who would be willing to hold office:

Carrie (treasurer) – Would run again as treasurer.

Greg would be willing to continue as secretary.

Jo F (vice president) is not opposed to running again (maybe as president).

OTHER BUSINESS:

Don: We need some weeding done. (Jo F said she would do it.)

Don – Out rec area is a disaster and we need to do something about it.

Greg – I think we need to let the county go away from the pier and inspection process before we do any structural repairs to either the gazeebo or the shed.

Don: It is a great time of year to cut the underbrush and the weeds.

Jo – Lets go down there and look what needs to be done to trim it up before it gets out of control. We should do it now before it gets too bad.

Don – Any questions on what we’ve talked too far.

Can we get someone to paint the chain?

Kevin – I’ll paint it. (To be planted black)

Don – Anything else we want to talk about? yard sale? community picnic?

Jo – I think we should do that (community picnic). We can celebrate our new pier.

Anything else?

Joe H. – Is there enough money in there to do the work that we’re doing. I want one slip. I guess it will be the one right next to where Joe Z’s boat is.

Another consideration on the pier would be that it would be nice to have a finger pier between the two slips to get on and off boats.

Don – Anything else.

Rita: Are we going to have a yard sale? Does anyone want to help organize one? If so, please volunteer to make it happen.

Don – If anyone is interested in a yard sale. We can have one. We already have the signs. If anyone is interested, you can call Carrie Zambrana to coordinate.

Don – What about community picnic. Maybe it should be in early June.

Carrie. –A Lot of people won’t be around in June.

Don – But then July you get people on vacation. But lets put it in the minutes to get interest up if anyone is interested. What about the middle of September. That would be a great time.

Rita – It wouldn’t take too much to put it together.

And by then we will have the rec area cleaned up—which we have to schedule. I think Saturday’s are the best days to do that. We will schedule a May and June cleanup day at the next meeting …cutting the brush and repairing the gazeebo and shed and so forth.

We also need someone in charge of maintaining the rec area…so that they can make sure that it gets done

Jo F- I’ll do that.

Mike R– Can we see what it would cost to get storm damage insurance coverage on the pier? We don’t want to buy the pier and then have the ice pull up all the pilings.

?? – Would old tires around pilings…bubbler to protect.

Jo F – Is the dock part of the homeowner’s policy? I was thinking that it would be part of the homeowner’s policy.

Carrie – I will call Mark Carella at State Farm to see what comprehensive covers.

Greg – We want to make sure that it covers specifically what we want it to and that we know exactly what he is quoting us for. For instance, storm damage; ice damage; fire damage; vessel collision damage, etc.

Carrie – I’ll talk to him about that.

Don: Next Meeting – Next MEETING will be TUESDAY May 20th. at Anita and Joe Herring’s. 7pm.

Motion/ Second.

Motion to adjourn. / Second.
