Also, Mary had her guys trim the bushes near the sign down near the corner and donated that on her behalf and paid for it, so we’d like to thank Mary. I think we should continue to trim that back and cut thenm back some more in the spring. I think if we trim the once again in the spring It’ll look good.

Don D…If anyone has any other ideas, please see me or Mary.

Mary- We need to either have stone or Ivy. but not both.

Mary – Do we want to paint the letters?

Jo F – I think we should. John and I tried to lift the anchor and we couldn’t budge it.

Mary D- Seem to me that we could drape stuff around and spray paint it.

Carrie- Treasurer Report- Our current balance is $2509.15 with no expenditures since last meeting. There’s still some talk about the expenditures for the sign. I guess we’ll find out about that later.

Bob M- I talked to Ray. I guess the guy who made it spelled Rhode wrong. He’ll take it back and get it fixed. Ray has that leg thing going on.

Don- I’ll go over there and get it and take care of it if needed.

Carrie – We announced last meeting that everyone is now paid up. We now have the actual liability insurance for the property as well.

Rita- Does the community have a safe-deposit box? I’d like to make a motion to go ahead and get one, because stuff like that should go in there.

Carrie – The bank where we have our accounts have them. They have different sizes, the smallest 3×5 s $25 per year. 5×5 is $60 but we probably won’t need that. They do have a 3×10 in case for $70 if you didn’t want to fold your documents.

Don – That’d be a good idea. Is there any more comment. Do we have a second?

Mary- I second that. (All VOTE all say. Carrie to get the contract and get moving on starting a safe-deposit box.)

Don D- Minutes- Are there any additions or deletions to minutes from last meeting? All in FAVOR? (All reply affrimatively)….then the minutes are approved and set into record.

There are a lot of things going on. John’s not here. The insurance company said we need to have a sign out there, especially with the pier in the condition that it is in. I’ll call Jackie or Ray tomorrow. I’ll take it up and take it to Quality Signs and change out the word. It can be fixed. We’ve got 2 signs…one for the top of the road and one for the path through the woods. I ‘v got a sign post already…Joe Redzensky gave it to me. We get it up there and it’ll take care of the insurance requirements. Let’s talk about the pier real quick.

Joe Z—John was supposed to give me the name of the guy with the county. But I guess he’s been out of town a lot.

Don- We’ll get started with that. I think things are slowing down this time of the year….but we need to get the pier done which is critical. I think the guy from the county comes out on Fridays. I’m not sure whether it is better to bring the guy from the county or the state. I understand that the state guy has more pull. We can make a note in the file that Joe so and so has looked at it and signed off on it. If for some reason we can’t get someone down here, I suggest we go ahead and file for a permit. Then they’ll come down and look at it. They’ll say…..Oh we got go down there and approve it. I’m thinking that hopefully we can get it done in January or February. Otherwise if it’s March or April, it’ll be a long wait because they’ll get backed up. Any pile driver could probably knock it out in a week. I did hear that we need some more detailed drawings. Jo, do we need more info showing existing pier v/s proposed new. We’re ½ way there except for the T. We need the actual dimensions though

Jo F- If we get the actual dimensions, we can do a new drawing. Let’s not wait. Let’s just do it. We can do a new drawing.

Don D- Thank you guys for finishing the initial clean up down there. The bad thing is that we have Thanksgiving and Xmas coming up. So it’s going to be slow this winter. My main concern is that we get the pier started and get something moving on that. Jackie is supposed to be on the bylaws and covenants….we need to get a formalization of what we’ve got and get them professionally drawn up.

We need to get a drawing of the existing pier. Get a hold of the county or the state. You need to call DOE, the number should be on the permit application. Maybe it’s on the instructions.

Joe F- Sometimes it’s better just to take it all up there and they’ll help you fill it out. If we get a gist of …… (We never notified the state. I think the county did it. They notify the corps of engineers.

Don D- I think maybe if you notify one, they notify the others.

Don D- I think the state may be acting as oversight. The state has the final word and are the whole thing now.

Don D- If we don’t get them out to look at it within a month….we’ll just go ahead and file for a permit. (Looking into last month’s minutes…..I see that John was going to speak with Jackie about the bylaws. I’ll talk to Jackie) We’ve been thru the sign. the treasurer’s report and the minutes. Bylaws well check on ….the pier well do in the next month. Further clean up we will hold to next spring. FYI—I’m away again in Jan10-March. We’ll have next meeting before the 10th. Would anyone like to have a Christmas social in lieu of a Dec Meeting. I’d say light hors d’oeuvres and drink and not a meal. Tuesday night would be good.

People- Say yes they’d be into it. People propose MONDAY, DEC 7th at 6:30pm.

Let’s do POTLUCK with hors d’oeuvres and drinks…. bring enough to share with all.

DON D- Okay. So we’ll have an XMAS social at Jo and Jan’s house at 6:30 on Mon Dec DEC 7th. And I think we need meeting in January. Where can we have it?

Greg W.- I think we should see if we can have it at Ken and Carolyn Polglase’s house. I’ll ask them.

Don D- Was there any other discussion as far as the county pier? And there was something about Tax Exempt status.

Greg W- I brought it up because on any given day that you go down there are about 25 or so people that make you feel not so good about being there. There is trash overflowing from the garbage cans and getting spread around by turkey vultures and there is never any place to park.

Carrie- I see there was talk about the tax status. We’re going to have to sit and meet with the tax guy because there are several things in there about being tax exempt, you have to allow other folks to be able to access the common prop and other things of that nature that are not going to work fur us. We might have to try to file under a different heading. The original application that I was completing was wrong. We may have to file differently and get some free legal advice in the process.

Don D- to recap….

1) laws and Covenants to prof form

2) pier…get guys to come….or file permits without

3) get actual dimensions existing and put in drawing form.

4) get the signs completed and installed

5) we’re going to have xmas potluck shindig

6) and we’re going to check on the next meeting on Jan 5th.

Mary- Did I see something about parking in the cul-de-sac?

Don D- Yes…that’s in the bylaws. Cannot hinder mail delivery or traffic flow.

Don- Bylaws are how we run the organization. Covenants are for the community.

I did get a notice that new boat-lifts now come with a $750 per lift. Greg brought some information on boat-lifts from Boat Lifts Unlimited if anyone wants it,
I’ve got it. Anything else before we adjourn? (nothing said) ADJOURNED!!!!!!

Meeting Adjourned at 8:07pm…..(now we are going to eat Home-made cookies and drink apple cider! provided by Mary D)

[3
