Anyhow, we need the VARIANCe for the 30,000 sr feet minimum req and also we do not meet the 25 foot setback for commercial piers….we are within 10 feet….so we need he variances.

JOE – What gets me is that we need o apply for a VARIANCE for a pier that is already there…and has been there for at least 60 years.

DON – Anyhow…we are going to go for the Special Exception and the Variance… Greg started the letter. The fees are pretty steep something like $1600. That’s standard. We should be able to get what we want, she said. All we want is to replace 3 pilings.

The biggest problem that I can see would be that note on the platt that says no boats. In that case, we don’t want any boats down there after we apply for this,.. and we will also say, if they ask about the pilings, that they are for only short term tie up.

At the hearing, the county will show up and mention what their recommendation is.

DON – I’m reading the letter that Greg typed up. See attached document.

I did contact Shoreline Design and I did get revised plans with the boarding ladder and fire extinguishers, and throwable decvice.

Letter review.

DON- another topic, we need to repair and paint the gazeebo. We need a couple of guys to spend a day or two to fix it up, and then take care of it. We’re going to need to buy some 4x4s and some 2x4s….and we’re going to need to repair the shed. It has the electric going to it which supplies the pier, the gazeebo and the shed. We need to shore up that pole that holds the power cables….I’d take a 6×6 and sister it into the exiting pole and then make it secure.

JOE Z – I’ll look at it and figure out how much we need and get a bid for the wood. I’ll price out the gazeebo and the shed.

DON – We need to finish the letter and then fill out the 2 applications and we are done. We can get together and do that in the next week. We need to have the check in hand.

CARRIE – We will have another insurance payment due in August.

Lots of discussion about money and how we will come up with the 1600 application fee, plus the 11500 for the pier.

JOE Z – Proposes a letter…to notify the homeowners of a special assessment in order to cover the costs of the repair to the pier and the rec area gazeebo and the shed.

DON – I would say $500 per house….$7,500.

There will be a July meeting to vote on the issue of an assessment to every home in the community for $500 for the repair of the rec area, the pier. the gazebo and the shed.

We will also discusss an amendment to the bylaws to empower the RHHA to wage special assessments as needed without a vote.

Note: If you cannot make it to the meeting, then please send in your vote via proxy in writing or mail to RHHA officer.

DON – Next….
