{"id":10,"date":"2015-08-18T21:06:17","date_gmt":"2015-08-18T21:06:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/rhodeharbor.com\/rhha\/?p=10"},"modified":"2015-08-19T11:37:55","modified_gmt":"2015-08-19T11:37:55","slug":"meeting-minutes-from-41st-rhha-meeting-08182015","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/rhodeharbor.com\/?p=10","title":{"rendered":"Meeting Minutes from 41st RHHA Meeting \u2013 08\/18\/2015"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><u>Minutes RHHA Meeting 08\/18\/15<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong><u>In Attendance:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Rita &amp; Don<\/p>\n<p>Jo &amp; Jan<\/p>\n<p>Tom Cavanaugh<\/p>\n<p>Jason McHenry, Liz and Alyse<\/p>\n<p>Carrie Zambrana<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Jo:<\/p>\n<p>I guess well start with Treasurer&#8217;s report:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Treasurer&#8217;s Report:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Carrie:<\/p>\n<p>Current balance in checking is $1,863.75<\/p>\n<p>Savings Balance is $3,611.17<\/p>\n<p>We received dues and slip fee payments in June equaling $1,200 total, and we still have some outstanding, so follow-up notices will go out<\/p>\n<p>We have had $173.99 expenses paid out = for Rec Area Rehab.<\/p>\n<p>Upcoming expenses include:<\/p>\n<p>State Farm Insurance bill $425 due in September, I&#8217;ll shop around.<\/p>\n<p>Storm water bill of about $119 due<\/p>\n<p>Electric $10 will be auto-debit<\/p>\n<p>Some additional expenses for the shed totaling $30.95 are also pending<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Taxes are done for 2014.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Rec Area Rehab<\/u><\/strong>:<\/p>\n<p>Also an update from Joe Z: via carrie<\/p>\n<p>Half of roof is done on shed, waiting for cooler weather to finish.<\/p>\n<p>We need the fragmities to be cut down.<\/p>\n<p>We also need to finish capping about 6-8 pilings.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Don: Are we working this weekend?<\/p>\n<p>If he wants to have people work this weekend, let us know. Otherwise we can put it off for another couple of weeks.<\/p>\n<p>Carrie: I&#8217;ll let him know.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Jo: We want to make sure that Joe has the support he needs, so please let us know.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Jo:<\/p>\n<p>Should we move forward on any electric down there at the pier?<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Others: Said they contacted electricians and no one seems to want such a small job.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Greg: Maybe Joe Herring or Bob Mongold has an electrician in their back pocket they could hook us up with.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Don: I know Joe Herring must, because when he needs an electrician to hook up an AC, he needs it right away.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>New Website Needed<\/u><\/strong>:<\/p>\n<p>Greg: Comcast sent out a notice that they no longer will be providing web pages as part of their service, which means in October they will take our website offline and delete all the files.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Jason M: I have my own server and I can host.<\/p>\n<p>(Greg and Jason will coordinate to save al files and repost on new website)<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Covenants and ByLaws:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Greg: We also need to get covenants and bylaws.<\/p>\n<p>(Note: Give Tom C. a hard copy of the latest)<\/p>\n<p>Tom C. volunteered to get something together based on where things were left off.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Crab Feast Sep 12<sup>th<\/sup>:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Jo F:<\/p>\n<p>The next order of business is our Crab Feast on September 12.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Someone will have to step and get the crabs, pay for it, beer and ice etc.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Don cooked the crabs himself last year, steamed them in 2 batches.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Tom: I&#8217;ll coordinate it.<\/p>\n<p>Salads, deserts, crabs, hamburgers..<\/p>\n<p>It will be at 1pm at Don and Rita&#8217;s house. Saturday October 12.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Tom: I will send out a list and find out who is going to be there and who is bringing what.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Accounting Standards:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Greg: Pier money should be earmarked for the pier and only the pier.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Carrie: The Savings account has always been for the pier.<\/p>\n<p>What we may want to do is shoot a proportion to the saving account.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Greg: We need to have separate accounts or at least line items and should also look at projection and expenses to make sure that we don&#8217;t get caught short handed in the future.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Tom: We need to know what is the input and what is the output.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Don: We are going to have a couple hundred dollars on the shed and the pier.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Jo: Our common ground is our common ground and the pier fund should be considered the pier.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Carrie: We have a pier fund, which is our saving and our operating budget, which is our checking account.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Tom: But what we don&#8217;t have is a budget.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Don: The grounds down there are for the community, so&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Carrie: The only money that has come out of the pier fund was for the rebuilding of the pier.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Carrie: But the only money that went into the pier fund.
